It's been over a year since I last blogged. That is outrageous. My absence was somewhat due to laziness but mostly due to my lack of a decent camera. Now I have semi-permanent access to some sort of fandangled SLR thing so I'm back.
Much has changed in the last year! My boyfriend and broke up, I totally ruined my hair and got some awesome wallpaper.
Here is my latest dress! I nearly threw it out because it made me look like a Seventh Day Adventist, but I shortened it, cut heaps out of the front and I think it's OK now. I've wanted to make a dress with faggoting (hehehe!) for ages, but I couldn't be bothered with it so I used an insert instead. I also gave pintucking a go, which was surprisingly difficult, and mine looks pretty messy up close.
I'm wearing the dress with an awesome cotton slip I got from an op shop for $2.50. I love how its previous owner wrote her name on it with permanent marker. (Although it reminds of when I was a kid and my mum wanted to write my name in my underwear when I went to school camp. Urgh!)
Apologies for my hair. I'm growing out my fringe, trying to get it back to my natural colour and trying to grow it long again (all very unsuccessfully) and it looks terrible and I have no clue what to do with it. Any ideas?

I am so happy to see you blogging again!!! Your dress looks adorable :D
ReplyDeleteYay, it's so great to have you back! I love your new dress and I think it's super sweet xx the hem is my favourite part.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I grew out my fringe, it took ages and I had to pin it up to train it because my hair is so thick.
Welcome back! Your dress is super cute, I especially love the high waist design, and I can't see the problem with your hair actually. When I'm tired of my fringe I flip it back and hold it in place with a tiny clip and that's it :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! The dress is great (as is the wallpaper) - love all the details. It looks perfect with that slip.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great from here - what's wrong with it?
Yes! It's so good to see you back! Love the dress and all its details (especially the faux-faggoting...I second you on the heh).
ReplyDeleteI can definitely sympathize with you on the hair- just be comforted by the fact that mine is much worse. Truly. I have three or more inches of weird multi-tonal grow out.
Great to see you back! I must say I really like your darker hair!
ReplyDeleteYou are back again! :-)
ReplyDeleteLike your hair, your wallpaper and your dress! :-)
Glad you are back! Woohoo! Love the dress! And what's wrong with your hair? It looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove the piping detail :) One of my favourite embellishments! Re the fringe growing out, I did that last year and nearly drove myself mad trying not to cut it back in - then I discovered fake fringes! If you can get one to match your natural colour people won't know you're wearing it :) I wore mine every day for about two months then when my hair was long enough I stopped :) good luck!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Love the dress. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh! As I am a Seventh-day Adventist, but not in the traditional sense. Dresses are not me, and neither are many other SDA traditions.
ReplyDeleteI have shared it with other Seventh-day Adventists. Thank you for the humour.
Hi Lily! Great new wallpaper and great new haircolor! :) Cute dress, I love how the lace of the slip peeks out underneath! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this dress and the material is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMan, look at the bad regrowth and nasty dye jobs out there and it'll put your fringe into perspective! I think it looks fine but growing them out!!!! Oy! Have you trimmed it into a side fringe yet? That helps it grow out with shape. I change my hair every 6 months or so (long then super short then long......) and know the tricks hee hee!
