I've just written a post about sewing leather, but I think I'll save it for another day when I'm feeling lazy and don't have much to say.
I'm giving my brown leather jacket another outing today with my amazing hot-off-the-press new top. I used another variation of the pattern I made for my lavender blouse and Seventh Day Adventist dress (and I have 3 other variations in the pipeline - I think this pattern has proved to be very successful!). Unfortunately these photos fail to convey its fabulousness. I might take some better ones before I put it up on BurdaStyle. I made it out of the most beautiful vintage whitework fabric that a lovely eBay seller accidentally sent to me (and didn't want back) a couple of years ago.

Gorgeous top! I finally did some sewing today. I haven't done any in ages. I have been knitting up a storm and my sewing has been getting ignored.
ReplyDeleteThat's so very pretty! Who had the idea to make the neckline, the shoulders and the sleeves like this? (Sorry my english is so very bad!!! arghhh)
ReplyDeleteThe uppper part of this blouse is just genious! Love the last photo!
Ps: Did I say jet that I love your hair-cut? :-))) I am going to dye my hair red next time.
Gorgeous look!
ReplyDeleteLove that top!

Oh, you *definitely* need another lacy white top, if it looks like this one. I love it! The neckline & sleeve ruffles are such an inspired detail. Also, it looks fabulous under a leather jacket - both sweet & edgy.
ReplyDeleteSo, basically: love, love, love it all! You look awesome.
What a cute lacy top, I love it in combination with the leather jacket!
ReplyDeleteI know nothing about the med-school system of Australia, do you do clinical rotations like in the UK? The practical training I'm doing is voluntary (well, we have to do 16 weeks of it during the 4 years of med-school, but we get to decide the specialisations) and I don't have to work nights or weekends. I also really like the babies... :D What year are you? I'm in the middle of my 5th (of six, including pre-med)...
ohmygosh, it's PERFECT! O_O
ReplyDeleteWow, this is absolutely beautiful! Would look great in black lace too, if you're wishing to break your white lace streak. ;)
ReplyDeleteARG I am such a duffer, I was convinced you'd stopped posting for some bizarreo reason so haven't visited your delightful blog in ages which I apologise profusely for! Your projects are as inspirational as ever, must get sewing...
ReplyDeleteI agree about those polkadot tights, I've gone through about 5 pairs which is beyond obscene, but I love them so much!
I'm pretty sure you can never have enough white lacy tops. It looks great. I love the Edwardian modernised vibe it has.
